does storing a guitar in its leather case horizontally on a wooden surface affect the truss rod angle?
All you guitarists?
Acoustic or electric?
1) Loosen the strings.(Lightweight acoustic guitar string sets have about 23# of tension on the plain strings, 26# on the low E, and 30# on the other wound strings. Medium gauge acoustic guitar sets have roughly 26# on the plain, 30# on the low E and 36# on the rest.)
2) Keep a humidifier in the case to keep the wood from drying out and cracking and check it periodically especially in the winter. See 2nd link.
3) Store the case flat (horizontally)so that pressure is not put on the neck which can cause warping, bowing or twisting.
