which guitar?
which guitar has a better sound to it?

and also can these guitars play like rock type of music?
epiphone – definitely.
Guitars can play practically any kind of music, it all depends on the amplifier you choose and the effects you use with it. If you want to play rock type music, you should buy a “Boss” distortion or overdrive pedal (search it on google) and use it with your guitar.
This will make your guitar sound like a rock guitar. A lot of professional rock bands use epiphones and Gibsons these days.
