Can any guitar be used as a Lap Guitar?

I’ve seen people use electric acoustic guitars as steel lap guitars so I want to know if any guitar can be used as a lap guitar. If your answer is “some can,” then more specifically, can this guitar be used as a lap guitar? “Ibanez TCY20 Talman Acoustic-Electric”

Yes, you can use that guitar. I assume by lap steel you mean a guitar you can lay on your lap and play it with a slide. They make electric lap steels that are not very expensive. Most of the people you see playing acoustic lap style slide play a type of guitar called a resonator. Dobro and National are the most famous of these but there are others. You can play just about any guitar this way, but guitars are like tools. Certain ones are designed to do certain jobs. Most people who play this style set up the strings so they are higher off the fretboard. That is because they are not pressing the strings to the frets with their fingers, and if the strings are too low, the weight and pressure of the slide will cause the string to press against the frets, which you don’t want. So, like I said, you can use that guitar, it just might not be the best one for the job. I hope this helps. Good luck.
