The HTC HD Mini Provides an Array of Features Within a Compact Handset
<P>HTC have recently released their latest handset, the compact HD Mini. As the name suggests it is a small phone, however that does not mean it lacks a comprehensive spec list. As expected from the manufacturer, it boasts key features including Wi-Fi internet access, 5 mega pixel camera and an impressive touch screen.</P>
<P>The HTC HD Mini utilises a selection of connectivity options to stay connected to both cellular networks and the internet. Internet connection relies initially on 3G coverage, where HSDPA is available at speeds of up to 7.2 Megabytes per second along with HSUPA at 2 Megabytes per second. A faster connection can be established whenever the phone is in an area located close to a wireless internet router where Wi-Fi provides a faster browsing experience. Class 10 EDGE & GPRS provide connection to cellular networks, whilst Bluetooth and USB allow the HD Mini to connect to other devices.</P>
<P>The everyday functionality of the handset is certainly impressive thanks to its long list of features and applications. To start, a versatile media player supports all manner of music and video file formats. Stereo FM radio playback and a choice of games also keep users entertained, whilst social networking fans are catered for with Facebook, Flickr and Twitter applications.</P>
<P>As mentioned, the camera boasts 5 Mega pixels (2592×1944 pixel resolution). This allows users to take high quality still images and video. The autofocus feature is included to simplify the task of taking pictures so it is never a chore.</P>
<P>As the name suggests, the HTC HD Mini is a small handset, measuring just 103×57.7×11.7mm and weighs just 110 grams. The colour scheme is black, and the facia is uncluttered with touch sensitive buttons at the base of the screen. The TFT capacitive touchscreen measures 3.2 inches which is impressive for such a small phone. It utilises a pixel layout of 320×480 pixels to display up to 65,000 colours for great quality screen display.</P>
<P>Internal memory in the HTC HD Mini is 384 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. A micro SD slot is provided which can accommodate a memory card of up to 16 GB for storage of data such as media files, and provides enough storage for an entire music collection and a large number of video files. The internal phonebook includes the photocall feature and can store a vast number of entries.</P>
<P>Users can customise the ringtones with the HTC HD Mini thanks to the ability to utilise MP3 and WAV music files as ringtones allowing them to hear their favourite song every time the phone rings. A speakerphone is included as is a 3.5mm audio jack, both of which allow users to communicate hands free.</P>
