Why aren’t my pick ups working?
I purchased a custom configured prewired pickguard from www.guitarpartsonline.com. They make their own private label pickups, and I have heard nothing bad from them… and the price was just right. I received the pickguard on Thursday and today I soddered the input jack and the grounding wire to the tremolo claw. I tried a tap test, but I heard nothing from my amp, even at maximum volume on that and the guitar. To make sure, I switched the wires on the input (I’ve been told that the order does not matter) to be sure, and still nothing.
The configuration is HSS, with the singles being regular ceramic and the bridge being what the website called “Gold Screamer.” The pots are 500k I believe (either that or 250k, but in this case does that matter?) Any ideas of what is wrong??
Are you an actual guitar luthier? Sounds like you know what you’re talking about but since its not working you may want to take it to a local certified guitar shop. You can find one here http://www.repairmyguitar.com
