Acoustic Guitar String Popped?
Okay, so when a guitar string pops (for example, high E string) do I change just that one string, or do I replace the whole set? I know I’m supposed to replace just that one string if all my strings are new, but I’m not sure if the new replacement string I’m going to buy will be the same. I know it’s kind of confusing. Well really my question is: Does it matter what brand of strings are being used? (They’re steel strings by the way.) I recently bought an acoustic guitar by Gibson about two weeks ago & I popped one of them (like I said earlier, high E string / thinnest string). If you’re wondering, I popped it because I tuned it too sharp, not because it was old. Anyways, I’m not too sure what type of string it is exactly (what gauge), so I’m afraid if I threw in a random high E string, that it wouldn’t be in tune. Yes, I do own a tuner, but I’m not even sure if that could tune it.
When one string breaks, you must replace all the strings.
