Learn to play acoustic guitar

The acoustic guitar is a popular tool among all age groups and is very rewarding Despite learning the game not to lose time with the electric guitar sounds cool. Then look at the techniques you learn as an acoustic guitarist and some legendary guitarists whose work will be familiar to hang out with other acoustic guitar players.

You may think that the technique acoustic guitar in two ways: either a collector or Joe Strummer. A Strummer plays dragging the thumb, index or pick the strings on guitar. You find a multitude of ways to scratch on the Internet. Start with the simplest you can find. Some strumming patterns simply show the names of agreements that are expected to play, and others show that includes only selected channels. Strings that are not included can be damped with the little finger hand left or the heel of his right hand.

You can search with a pick – This technique is called flatpicking – or use your fingers. If you decide to fingerpicking you can use selections to enter the thumb and fingertips. The steel strings are hard on the nails so that you may need to stop fingerpicks her nails are torn. Nylon strings do not require the use of picks, but after having a bit of guitar playing experience, you can take the decision based on the type of sound you want.

An easy start to fingerpicking is a finger in E minor chord and place your fingers on the strings for play. No agreement to make a selection, just decide which strings to play in this agreement and place your fingers on his right hand a pinch "position" ready to play. So for the chord of E minor, you can place your thumb on the sixth string and the index on the third string, second finger on the second string and your index finger on the first string. Now tear each string with your thumb and pulling with the fingers.

If you want to see what you can do if you host the dedication to acoustic guitar, Leo Kottke is a good start. It is an innovative fingerstyle acoustic guitarist which is strongly influenced by folk, jazz and blues. Another great Tommy Emmanuel, an Australian on acoustic and electric guitarist known for his energetic fingerpicking style. He developed his own style based on "Travis picking style of playing he heard played on records by Chet Atkins.

"Picking Travis is a way of catching fingers, which involves playing bass with the thumb, and melody with the first two or three fingers simultaneously. This style collection was developed by Merle Travis, a country and western singer and songwriter who wrote a song to success, early fifties, "Sixteen Tons". While we are talking about travis picking, you have probably heard of Chet Atkins. He is a guitarist Nashville influential and record producer for many famous artists. He played the electric guitar and especially its technical collection was inspired by Merle Travis with musical influences from Django Reinhardt and Les Paul.

For the acoustic guitar player who chooses to stay with the plectrumn, "Doc" Watson is one of bluegrass, folk, country, blues singer and guitarist and gospel music. He is revered by many other composers of his astonishing flatpicking style even if it does fingerpicking.

The repertoire of the acoustic guitar today owes much to the folk revival of the sixties. Some names of that time, whose work must be updated with:

John Renbourn the English guitarist and composer is best known for his work with his friend guitarist, Bert Jansch and career with the English folk group Pentangle. Renbourn's musical interests include early music, folk, classical and blues.

Bert Jansch is a Scottish folk musician whose influences include English guitarist Davy Graham. His music has influenced Jimmy Page, Ian Anderson, Donovan and Neil Young.

English John Martyn is a guitarist who also sings and writes songs. He has made albums as a studio musician and has worked with interest as Eric Clapton, David Gilmour and Phil Collins. He invented his own sound with an acoustic guitar played by a Fuzzbox, phase shifter and Echoplex.

Davy Graham is a guitarist who is much in the English folk scene in the sixties. Lots of acoustic guitar players like Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Martin Carthy and Jimmy Page. His acoustic instrumental piece, Anji was recorded by Paul Simon on an early Simon and Garfunkel album.
