How do you properly adjust the action on a bass guitar?
I have a Fender American Jazz (with a standard truss rod) and can not get the action fairly low without buzzing strings. He had set the music store a while ago and I do not think they knew what they did because it took one month to settle and the strings were all different heights and do not look too good when I'm back.
As ?????????????????????? One month to settle a truss rod that normally takes 10 minutes. at most, and this includes coffee and cigarettes 2 5. As a professional Fender, Gibson, Rickenbacker and the note, the repair man. First, set eyes on the blade and look down toward the center of the neck. Now press your finger on the first box, and with the other hand, press the 12th fret. You now have a perfectly straight line. Okay? It should be 1 / 16 "inch gap between the largest ropes and handle in box 7 (the center of the neck) If you press the box 1 and 12, the string is played at the 7th fret? Or is it the neck bent, as they say? If so, loosen the two strings middle slightly. Use the Allen wrench and turn around soul and a half. Do not worry, nothing will break. Now, adjust the bass. Turn to the middle of the neck to see if the drop is lowered. You need a space between the strings and the key. If still playing, loosen another quarter turn to the left. Repeat this operation until you obtain a proper license, as I said. No melody and noise of snoring is gone. PS If you lose too much then loosen the string half and turn one quarter turn. Adjustment, and that's OK. These guys screwed up the bass and wouldnt be a surprise the harmonics are off. Do not worry if you have trouble, send me an e-mail. I can fix it by e-mail. However, if the difference is perfect and the space between the 7th fret and string key, and it still buzzes. Lift the specific string ringing through the mini Allen key on the bridge. If the action of a string is too high or too low, high or low until everyone more buzz. Once you get there, the gameplay has been greatly improved.
