Should I have a Fender Stratocaster or Epiphone Les Paul Special II?

I played for about a year and I am now ready to hang Fender Starcaster received my starter kit and either a Fender Stratocaster or Epiphone Les Paul Special II I like the sound of Gibson Les Paul (but its $ 600 then I am for Epiphone settle) and I'm used to and I heard the Fender Stratocaster are large.

Stratocaster is no doubt. I'm a Start player and probably will always be. Of course, everything really depends on what music you play. a Fender Stratocaster is ideal for the following types of music (almost all styles, except of metal, but they can do, play with the right pickups and whatnot) Rock Classic Rock Blues Country Jazz Pop Surf So if less harcore metal or something else, then a Stratocaster is good for you!
