What is it with "Coil" pickups in the guitar?
I know that a pick-up is essentially a humbucker coil or a pair of two of single-coil pickups wired together, but what they mean by "coil"? A coil is the "collection itself? This thing long with 6 magnets? Is it that what they mean by coil?
A pick-up is a coil, magnets together, and the thread is "wrapped" around the coil. Over the years, the notion "Coil" has come to signify the wire assembly / magnet coil, /, although technically it is only the thread. Greetings from Ken Austin TX
