Electrical meter board panels-what are the regulations regarding materials used?
I live in a 1920′s block of 8 units in Sydney, and we are currently getting the main electrical cable connection & meter board upgraded, as the old cabling was quite old & dangerous. The electrician has claimed he has finished, but the panels that the meters and switches attach to are still the original timber. I thought it would be a new non-flammable material, and hinged for easy access for electricians to the back. Are there any regulations relating to the materials used in meter boxes ?
